D. Internal SEM of valve face margin and valve mantle. A central strutted process is visible on the valve face. A marginal strutted process is visible on the valve mantle. The marginal strutted processes have three accessory pores located around the primary pore. The structure of the central strutted process is similar to the marginal strutted processes, but possess two accessory pores. Both the marginal strutted processes and the central strutted processes have accessory pore cowlings that cover each accessory pore and fuses to the primary pore. Scale bar equals one micron.
