B. Internal valve view in SEM. The marginal strutted processes are visible on the valve mantle. Along the valve mantle are primary costae (pc) and secondary costae (sc) forming true chambers of type A. A marginal strutted process occurs on every primary costa. Central strutted processes (csp) are present on the valve face and form a ring. Domed cribra are located on the valve face among the central strutted processes. A labiate process (lp) is present on the valve face beyond the extension of the cribra and central strutted processes. Labiate processes are generally single in this species. Scale bar equals ten microns.
