C. Internal valve mantle view in SEM. Two marginal strutted processes and the labiate process are visible. The marginal strutted processes occur near the mid point of the valve mantle and are level with the top of the true chamber openings. Chambers are of type B2. Two accessory pores are present, located opposite one another surrounding the primary pore. The orientation of the accessory pores is perpendicular to the valve face, rather than parallel as is generally seen in species with two accessory pores present on the marginal strutted processes. The accessory pore cowlings are visible. Scale bar equals one micron.
