D. Internal valve mantle in SEM. The labiate process and marginal strutted processes are visible. Also visible is the “pocket like” structure formed between two costae. Together these form a false chamber. The marginal strutted processes have three accessory pores and the accessory pore cowlings are visible surrounding the primary pore. The marginal strutted processes appear to be slightly sunken into the costae. Scale bar equals one micron.
