B. Internal valve view in SEM. Numerous cribra and three central strutted processes (csp) are present on the valve face. The central strutted processes typically form a ring on the valve face. The cribra are arranged in fascicles. Marginal strutted processes can be seen on the valve mantle. At the valve face/ mantle junction labiate processes can be found, multiple labiate processes are typical in this species. Scale bar equals ten microns.
