C. Internal valve mantle area in SEM. The marginal strutted processes can be seen on every primary costa. The marginal strutted processes have two accessory pores, and complex accessory pore cowlings are present. The primary costa connect the valve face margin/ mantle junction and the across the marginal annulus. The secondary costae connect the valve face margin/ mantle junction and the outer most portion of the marginal annulus. Scale bar equals one micron.
