B. Internal valve view in SEM. The concentric valve undulation is apparent, and a central strutted process occurs just off the valve center. Typically one to three central strutted processes (csp) are present. Costae at the valve face/ mantle junction are raised and thickened forming prominent false chambers. Marginal strutted processes (msp) are located on every second to third costa near the upper portion of the valve mantle. The labiate process (lp) is also present on a valve mantle costa, and occurs singularly in this species. The cribra are strongly domed and arranged in fascicles. Scale bar equals 10 microns.
